My first “art” attempt

I’m not a particularly creative person. I tend to see what other people are doing and try to emulate their work. I saw something on TV last week that inspired me to try something different. It was a chocolate fountain.
Chocolate from wood? Well, yes – sort of. The shape is supposed to resemble the cascade of a chocolate fountain.
The wood is Yew, and the finish is beeswax.

The top comes off to reveal a little hidey-hole inside. The top of the finial has a little Scottish Thistle motif. (The wood was felled locally)

Unfortunately I couldn’t get it all from a single piece of wood, but I don’t think it detracts anything from the over-all shape.
The underside of the “dome” is also hollowed out and the walls are around 3mm thick. The finial is around 200mm high and about 4mm thick at the thinnest part.
