More of the arty stuff

I have a pile of oak in the shed, which has been there since I got the lathe. It is either nasty & punky, or horribly split and not much use for anything other than firewood. I have been experimenting with different ways to fill the cracks and make something useful from the timber.
I like the idea of tall, spindly turnings. Something delicate but still able to support a useful part. It has to have some use, otherwise what’s the point?Art #2 #1
I still need to think of a name for it.
The finish is shellac and a polish with my home-made paste wax.
Grass needs cutting today, and I have a tree to collect later. I have no idea what species it is, but there is quite a bit of ash in the vicinity, so here’s hoping.
