Foggy Friday

After 3 weeks of not being able to do any turning, I am fairly determined to get out there and flex my creative muscle. The forecast is reasonably good for tomorrow, only light showers – I can live with that.
I am in the process of trying to get some money together to upgrade my lathe. The one I have is a good enough lathe, just limited in terms of what I am able to turn. I am currently looking at a variable speed, swivel head machine. This will allow me to turn larger size bowls etc. which is something I would have found very useful on the hourglass project.
I may, or may not get any turning done over the weekend. I am considering re-designing my workshop space to allow for better access and storage. The current layout is a bit disjointed and there is a fair amount of wasted space. I think it would be better to have the workspace flowing from front to back, then returning along the back wall. This will hopefully give me more floor space, and more space for storing timber.

Ho-hum. Time will tell. Have a good weekend.
