Just a quickie

Yesterday I attended Scotland’s National Woodworking & Power Tool Show at Brodie’s Timber just a bit North from Perth on the A9 road. The event was held here because the Nelton’s show had to be cancelled this year. Although not on the same scale as Ingliston, the show was, in my opinion, a really good day out.
I came away with some goodies, not a huge amount due to being extremely poor naturally, but look forward to going out to play later.

The timber is a purpleheart bowl blank. There is the banksia nut, which just fascinate me, and I also bought a sample pack of Chestnut spirit stains. My previous attempts at colour have been with coloured wax (crayola) rather than actual colour products.
I have a particular plan for the banksia nut, so watch this space.

They might do Robbie, but this one exploded when I tried to drill it.
Ho, hum – never mind. My wee purpleheart bowl turned out nice, and I managed to rescue the vase from last week so it’s not all lost.
