I really love turning laburum. I know it is horribly toxic, and always take appropriate precautions. To be honest, I’m just glad to finally get some quality time behind the lathe. It seems such a long time since my last output.
I have filmed my turning for this piece, and will post the edited video whan it is finished. In the meantime, here are a couple of photos.
Laburnum really is beautiful. Lovely shades of chocolate.
Each with a little jingly bell inside. Well, it is nearly Christmas.
The finish on these is Chestnut friction polish. Personally, I think this is all Laburnum needs.
I made a video of the process using my shabby old CCTV cameras. One day I will buy decent cameras with sound.
